Top 10 Trade Targets this Trading Season – First 5

3B Mike Moustakas (COL) – Possible fits: KC, CHW, SF

The Colorado front office has made it known loud and clear that the third baseman is on the block. However if the Rockies stay hot and continue to win games, they may need to reverse their approach and think about holding onto their best performer. But with the dismal state of their pitching staff this notion of a surge in the standings may be a bit far-fetched.

The Royals would be an ideal fit for the three sacker. In the competitive AL Central acquiring Moose may be just enough to separate them from the pack. Elsewhere in the Central the Sox, who have Junior Lake entrenched as their everyday 3B, most certainly could stand to see an upgrade...

2019 League Trade Deadline Block

A league trade block has been created. It will serve as a one-stop shop for all the players that have been mentioned by GM’s as being available this trade season. It will periodically be updated as we inch closer and closer to the trade deadline and as well as when players go off the board.

League Insider: Astros and Red Sox Discussing Possible Major Trade

January 31, 2019: Rumors have been swirling in and around MLDSB front offices the past couple days that a possible major trade between the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox could be shaping up. A league insider, who chose to remain anonymous, tipped us off that the discussions were happening but didn’t give much detail as to who could be involved.

As reported in The Edition two weeks ago, new Houston General Manager Jake Lewis notified all other clubs that youngsters 1B Craig McJannett and SS Dave Calhoun were on the list of players that he was looking to deal. OF George Springer was also reported to be on that list...

The St. Louis Cardinals are champions, today and forever.

“Nobody can take this away from us, not ever,” said an excited Kolten Wong after his club had defeated the Texas Rangers. “We worked hard and we accomplished our goal.”

The atmosphere was electric as the newly-crowned champs stormed the field as the game concluded.

Fans cheered, gloves flew in the air, high fives and hugs were the order of the day.

“From day one of spring training, I could see it in their eyes,” said the St. Louis manager. “The players had that look of intensity, of hunger, of a desire to accomplish something great, and today they did that – they’re champions of the world.”

The Cardinals took the series 4-2, with the final win being a 2-1 triumph.

2016 Opening Day – Rangers at A’s (A’s 7 – Rangers 6)

The Athletics opened the 2016 at home against the Texas Rangers and ace pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Oakland’s number one, Jose Quintana did himself and the A’s no favors by starting off slowly. Quintana allowed an opening double to Jurickson Profar and walk to Jesus Montero. Both were eventually driven in by single from Jonathan Singleton and Nick Castellanos respectively. The Rangers were able to add another run in the third inning from a Manny Machado single, a wild pitch from Quintana and anothet single from Singleton. While the Rangers were getting the runs the A’s new look lineup struggled. Through the first 4 innings the A’s were only able to manage two base runners, Kendrys Morales reached in the first on a hit by pitch and a bunt for a hit by Jemile Weeks in the third...

St. Louis Wins 2015 World Series!

The St. Louis Cardinals concluded the season in grand fashion — they won the Major League Daily Sim Baseball League World Series. They nailed it down at Fenway Park by whipping the Boston Red Sox 5-4 to win it all. They took the series 4-2.

Their motto for the season was “Win or Die Trying.”

“They never let up and they never stopped trying the whole season,” the Cardinals manager proudly told reporters. “They hustled and fought the whole season and it continued in the playoffs. They are a very special bunch of guys.”

To get their 1st MLDSB league crown, the Cardinals finished the regular season in the National League Central Division with a 91-71 record, ending up in first place in the division standings.

Orioles Rule in 2014!

The celebrations have begun. The streets are alive with people and the confetti is flying. The Baltimore Orioles have done it — they won the 2014 Championship Series. The Orioles defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 at Dodger Stadium to take the title. Baltimore took the series 4-3 for their 4th Major League Daily Sim Baseball League championship.

After the game, the victorious Orioles manager told the secret to his team’s great season and Championship Series triumph, “The harder you work, the luckier you get,” he said. “As far as I’m concerned, I’m the luckiest guy in the world today.”

The new champions finished first in the regular season with a 85-77 record in the American League Eastern Division.

2014 Playoffs begin!

With a championship to be decided, the Major League Daily Sim Baseball League is filled with excitement. There’s nothing like the thrill of the playoffs. There will be some career-defining moments played out in the coming days. There will be some heroes, some great plays, some blunders and some failures, but it will be a great time for fans. Playoff baseball is here and it gets underway today. The Wildcard Series starts today with this slate of games:
Oakland Athletics (BYE), Los Angeles Angels versus Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles (BYE), Detroit Tigers (BYE), Atlanta Braves (BYE), Los Angeles Dodgers versus Washington Nationals, San Diego Padres (BYE) and St. Louis Cardinals (BYE).

Major Trade Deadline Trade!

The Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers completed a huge deal late last night and just hours before the 2014 non-waiver trade deadline that has the MLDSB world rockin’! It had been believed that the Rockies had finished wheeling and dealing after acquiring young SP Jameson Taillon from the Pittsburgh Pirates just the day before but apparently the Rockies had one more player they had put on their radar to help boost the team’s chances to compete for a wildcard and maybe even the NL West title and that player was SP Zack Greinke. Greinke had been acquired last season in a trade that sent Troy Tulowitzki to the Dodgers but quickly the teams backed out of the trade.

The Dodgers have been looking to put a potent bat and glove at the hot corner all season and with Nick Punto not doing...
