Washington’s owner was AWOL during the off-season and FA.  When he emerged from his work imposed sabbatical the season was about to start.  To prepare for a playoff run he did what most elite GMS do. 1) Canned his manager before the start of the season and brought in a journeyman whose main talent was not ticking off his star players.  2) signed a bunch of retreads and FA castoffs. 3) Claimed his number 3 starter off of waivers. 4) Traded away his farm system (And likely AL ROY) for two Center Fielders.  It all paid off however with a team that hit 385 HR and had two 70 HR hitters.  Including Jeff Badger who broke Barry Bonds’ record with an amazing 78 HR...

#2) Jhoulys Chacin (R)

#3) Jon Garland (R)

#4) Juan Nicasio (R)
