January 31, 2019: Rumors have been swirling in and around MLDSB front offices the past couple days that a possible major trade between the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox could be shaping up. A league insider, who chose to remain anonymous, tipped us off that the discussions were happening but didn’t give much detail as to who could be involved.

As reported in The Edition two weeks ago, new Houston General Manager Jake Lewis notified all other clubs that youngsters 1B Craig McJannett and SS Dave Calhoun were on the list of players that he was looking to deal. OF George Springer was also reported to be on that list. Scouts all around the league are in love with McJannett, a blue-chip prospect who has been lingering in the minors but is widely thought to be on the verge of a big league callup. We are only speculating at this point, but could McJannett be one of the names being tossed about in these discussions?

With not much happening on the trade front the past three or so weeks, a deal consummated between the two clubs would be major baseball news.
